სულ ცოტა ხნის წინ კონდი ქუჩის სამხატვრო გალერეად გაადაკეთეს. ეს ამბავი კი 2018 წლის აგვისტოში იწყება, მაშინ როცა უბნის ერთ-ერთ ქუჩაზე უცნაური სურათები გაჩნდა. ეს სურათი ასახავდა სამკუთხედებს, სადაც არარატის მწვერვალები, პალმის ხეები და "მოლოტოვის კოქტეილის" აალებული ბოთლი იყო გამოსახული.
ადგილობრივები არარატის მწვერვალებს არ შეხებიან, თუმცა, აალებული ბოთლის შეცვლა მოინდომეს. შემდეგ იქ ასეთი წარწერა გაჩნდა: "ქუჩის სამხატვრო გალერეა". მოგვიანებით ქუჩების გალამაზება სომეხმა გრაფიტიზე მომუშავე ხელოვანებმა დაიწყეს, მათ მოგვიანებით ქართველი და ჰელსინკელი მხატვრებიც შეურთდნენ. ნამუშევრები ქუჩებში მხოლოდ ტურისტებს არ იზიდავს, არიან ადგილობრივი დამთვალიერებლებიც. კონდის გზებზე სეირნობა ერევანში ერთ-ერთ საყვარელ თავშესაქცევად იქცა.
Kond is Yerevan’s oldest neighborhood, where one can feel the pre-Soviet era in the air in each one of its narrow streets. If you happen to visit Kond, you can feel as if you are walking around the past. It is astonishing to witness that the current urban face of Kond has remained the same for centuries, and that the streets had preserved the same layout since the 17th century. Kond is a unique crossroad where you can meet not only the past, but also the present and the modern part of Yerevan.
Kond has recently been transformed into a street art gallery. The story of Kond gallery began in august 2018, when a strange image emerged overnight; triangles resembling the peaks of Ararat, a palm tree, a flaming bottle: “Molotov’s cocktail.”
The locals didn`t touch Ararat, but “Molotov” was covered. The graffiti artist Sergey Navasardyan, socialized with the locals, trying to recover the image, soon it was partially restored and was even completed with an inscription: now, in the top corner it reads, “street art gallery”. Armenian graffiti artists along with the artists from Georgia and Helsinki painted the streets in Kond. Due to these art works Kond revives and attracts not only tourists but also locals as well. Walking around the area and admiring their street art is a fun afternoon activity. I would complete this story telling you that in Soviet Union Kond was known as a stronghold of criminal activity. So, when you are in Kond street art gallery you should remember that just 30 years ago in this streets the locals would beat the boys and the girls who dare to do something like that.
