This is a story about Sukhumi and Ochamchiri stations, of which only Sukhumi one is working. Trains as well as double-decker buses depart from the station to different cities of Russia at a favorable price, which starts from 1000 Rubles. Also, one can travel by minibuses intended for intercity transportation from here.
There is a booth at Ochamchiri station where tickets are sold. It is next to the hospital. Minibuses also stop at this place as they are waiting for the passengers departing at 5-6 AM in the morning.
Unfortunately, both stations are in a deplorable condition after the 1992-1993 Abkhazian People's Patriotic War. Nothing has been fully restored yet. In 2015, the front side of Ochamchire station was partially renovated and painted, and opened with with a special ceremony. However, during the following years, the rest of the unused part of the building was further damaged.
